Cavalier Genève Limited Edition 2024 Prelight
Cavalier Genève, founded by Sebastien Decoppet, is a boutique cigar brand based in Danli, Honduras. Sebastien was a Swiss entrepreneur who dreamed of starting his cigar brand. Sebastien decided to sell many possessions to fund a trip to Honduras and pursue his dreams. Once there he met Adin Perez and began to work under his mentorship. Sebastien went on to start what we now know as Cavalier Genève in 2016.
Cavalier has been releasing the Limited Edition line annually since 2018. 2024’s release is rolled in a double perfecto vitola at 5 1/2″ by 58 with a pigtail cap. The blend details are undisclosed. This release was limited to 1,948 boxes of 10 cigars. The number 1948 is significant as it’s the melting point of gold in Fahrenheit. As always with Cavalier, a diamond of gold leaf is affixed to the cigar beneath the label.
The wrapper is an oily amber with a very nicely finished pigtail cap. The cigar feels slightly over-packed and a touch stiff. The foot and wrapper have aromas of sweet hay and barnyard. A cut shows a draw that’s just a bit tighter than my liking. There are notes of cedar and sweet hay on the cold draw.

Cavalier Genève Limited Edition 2024 First Third
We’re starting with medium minus smoke output, with a big blast of sweetness and brightness. The notes on the palate are campfire wood, wonder bread, and a touch of granola. The retrohale shows sweet whipped cream, a bright mix of baking spices that tickle the sinuses, and a touch of leather. The flavor profile here is exceptionally lively, especially on the retrohale. The smoke output is now at medium plus. The burn line is a bit wavy, and the ask has some flakes, but it’s smoking exceptionally so far. The finish is medium with notes of rich cream and campfire wood.

Cavalier Genève Limited Edition 2024 Second Third
Notes of campfire wood, graham crackers, earth, and granola on the palate. Vanilla whipped cream, bright baking spices that tickle the sinuses, and some musty white pepper on the retrohale. Smoke output is now at medium plus with a straight burn line and slightly flaky ash that’s still holding on. The finish is medium with notes of campfire wood and vanilla.

Cavalier Genève Limited Edition 2024 Final Third
More Campfire wood, graham crackers, earth, and vanilla on the palate. With spiced vanilla cream, leather, and musty white pepper on the retrohale. The brightness has taken a significant step down, but it’s still a very balanced profile. Smoke output is at medium plus, with a slightly wavy burn line and tight ash. Past the band, the blend leans into the smoky campfire and vanilla tones with the spiced cream playing in the background. I put this one down with about an inch left.

Cavalier Genève Limited Edition 2024 Conclusions
The Cavalier Genève Limited Edition 2024 had me sold at the first puff. Brightness is my absolute favorite characteristic in a cigar’s flavor profile. This blend was lively and exciting until the midpoint of the final third when the sweet cream and wood tones began to shine. While I’d be very eager to try this blend in a different vitola the cigar delivered an exceptional experience as it is. 2024’s Limited Edition is scant, and many online vendors are out of stock. These cigars are a bargain at $12-$15, especially considering the rarity of tobaccos in the blend. Do not hesitate to try these if you see them in the wild. You will not regret it!
