I had just picked this up in a trade, and was very eager to give it a try. I have heard such amazing things about the El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme, but had never been able to get my hands on one. So when I saw these were much more readily available I figured I would settle for the little guy.

This cigar needs no time to warm up. The first puff starts off with tinges of bright citrus, and a Cohiba-ey honey note. There’s distinct melon note in there as well, it could be cantaloupe or honeydew. I also picked up some very light coffee with milk, and some cornflakes. This cigar is starting to sound like a free breakfast at a resort somewhere.
As the cigar got to the halfway mark some of that bright citrus started falling off. It was still present though, and would pop up heavy in a random puff once in a while, which I found very enjoyable. Around here is when I realized I was starting to smoke this cigar a bit too quickly. I can definitely see people smoking this too fast, and missing out on the magic. It’s definitely a delicate stick, so slow down and take your time!
Truthfully I was not expecting to write this review. I had the intention of smoking this in my backyard and just enjoying it, but after one puff I ran inside to get my camera. For such a small ring gauge they managed to pack this blend full of flavor, and it was very consistent throughout. Call me crazy, but I would take this over a Siglo I, or II any day. As mentioned above this was procured in a trade, and has ~4 years of age on it, so your mileage may vary on a fresh one. That being said, I’m buying a box the next time I have the opportunity, and now I REALLY need a Choix Supreme.
